    Scope

What's Included in a Bathroom Renovation

A bathroom renovation can mean anything from swapping a vanity to taking the room down to the studs. Most projects fall somewhere in between.

    Cosmetic refresh

New vanity, fixtures, mirror, lighting, and paint without moving plumbing. The fastest way to update a tired bathroom. Most cosmetic refreshes take 1–2 weeks.

    Mid-range remodel

New tile, vanity, tub or shower, toilet, fixtures, and flooring — same layout, everything replaced. The most common bathroom remodel scope for Metro Detroit homeowners. Takes 3–5 weeks.

    Full gut remodel

Demo to the studs. New layout, relocated plumbing, new electrical, new everything. Best for tub-to-shower conversions, primary suite expansions, or bathrooms with hidden water damage. Takes 5–8 weeks.

    What We Install

    Bathroom Renovation Components

    Tile & stone

Floor tile, shower walls, tub surrounds, and accent niches. We handle all tile work in-house — porcelain, ceramic, marble, and stone — including waterproofing the substrate the right way before a single tile goes up.

    Showers

Custom tile showers with proper waterproofing (Schluter or equivalent), built-in benches, niches, and frameless glass enclosures. We also install one-piece and prefab shower units when that's the better fit.

    Tubs

Drop-in soaking tubs, freestanding tubs, and standard alcove tubs. We handle the demo of old cast iron tubs, framing, plumbing rough-in, and finish work.

    Vanities & countertops

Stock, semi-custom, and fully custom vanities paired with quartz, granite, or marble countertops. Single sink, double sink, and floating vanity configurations.

    Plumbing fixtures

New faucets, shower valves, toilets, and drains. Moving plumbing — relocating a toilet, shower, or vanity — requires opening the floor or wall and is a common part of a full remodel. We coordinate with a licensed plumber for all rough-in work.

    Electrical & lighting

GFCI outlets, vanity lighting, recessed cans, exhaust fans, and heated floor controls. All electrical work is done by or coordinated with a licensed electrician.

    Heated floors

Electric radiant floor heating mats installed under tile. A relatively low-cost upgrade that makes a big difference in a Michigan bathroom. We install the mats, thermostat, and coordinate the electrical.

    Ventilation

A properly sized, properly vented exhaust fan is one of the most important — and most overlooked — parts of a bathroom. We install fans vented all the way to the exterior, not into an attic.

    Pricing

How Much Does a Bathroom Renovation Cost in Metro Detroit?

Bathroom renovation costs in Metro Detroit vary based on scope, tile selections, and whether plumbing is relocated:

    • Cosmetic refresh: $5,000–$15,000

    • Mid-range remodel (same layout): $18,000–$40,000

    • Full gut remodel or primary suite: $40,000–$90,000+

The biggest cost drivers are tile selection, custom shower work, and whether plumbing is relocated. Keeping the same fixture locations and upgrading finishes is the most cost-effective path to a dramatically different bathroom.

We provide detailed, itemized estimates before any work begins. No surprises.

    How We Build

    The Bathroom Renovation Process

    1

    Initial consultation

We walk your bathroom, discuss what you want to change, and establish a realistic budget range before anything else.

    2

    Design & selections

Layout, tile, vanity, fixtures, and finishes are selected. We provide a detailed scope of work and contract before demo begins.

    3

    Permits

Most bathroom remodels involving plumbing or electrical changes require permits. We pull all required permits.

    4

    Demo

Existing tile, fixtures, vanity, and anything being replaced is removed and disposed of. Hidden damage is documented.

    5

    Rough-in work

Plumbing, electrical, and any framing changes happen while walls are open.

    6

    Inspections

Rough-in work is inspected and approved before walls are closed.

    7

    Waterproofing & substrate

Shower and wet areas are waterproofed properly. Cement board, membrane, and seams are done by the book — this is what separates a tile job that lasts from one that fails.

    8

    Tile, drywall & paint

Tile is set and grouted. Walls are closed, finished, and painted.

    9

    Vanity, fixtures & trim

Vanity, countertop, toilet, faucets, lighting, mirrors, and trim are installed.

    10

    Final inspection & walkthrough

All work is inspected, approved, and walked through with you before we consider the job done.
